Join the MEC team for a relaxed networking event where we will share our story on strategically optimising the extraction of a steeply dipping coking coal deposit in chilly Russia! Not only will we dig deep into the technical rigour of Lerchs Grossman, we will also provide our personal insights into; both the cultural and environmental challenges we faced working on the other side of the planet.
This technical talk will be proudly presented by Principal Mining Engineer Christofer Catania, who brings over a decade of experience working in coal and metalliferrous deposits right across Australia, Norway, Sepon, Russia and Kazakhstan.
Chris started his career working in the Bowen Basin and has recently joined MEC after returning from a 2 year stint in Kazakhstan, at one of the biggest known copper deposits in the Northern Hemisphere.
We have witnessed his career trajectory into some of the most challenging and dynamic projects in the world. Chris will be joined by General Manager – Strategy & Business Development and WIMARQ Chair Maria Joyce.
