Projects
Blackwater Mine is a part of BMA, the 50:50 joint venture between BHP and Mitsubishi Development. MEC undertook a Maintenance Capacity Identification Study to assess existing and recommend future mine industrial area infrastructure requirements to meet long term business value drivers.
Broadmeadow Mine is a longwall underground coal operation where coal is processed jointly with coal from Goonyella Riverside. MEC supported the Southern Vent and Access Selection/ Definition study that identified an additional vent shaft and drift required to address ventilation requirements for extending the mine operations to meet the design life.
MEC supported the Broadmeadow Mine Shaft 3A combined identification, selection, and definition study for the new vent shaft 3A identified through the Southern Ventilation and Access Study as being required earlier to meet ventilation requirements to continue underground mining operations in accordance with the mine plan.
Saraji Mine is an open coal mine located near Dysart and is one of Australia’s largest mines by recoverable coal reserves. MEC supported site investigation works for the Substation Replacement Selection Study that proposed the supply and installation of a new substation to meet safety and site requirements.
Goonyella Riverside Mine is an open cut coal mine that exports coal on the Goonyella Railway line to Hay Point, from where it’s sent to markets worldwide. MEC supported site investigation and study documentation for Product Coal Management Selection study that identified the preferred alternative to strengthening of existing conveyor tunnels to ensure increased design life for the proposed capacity increase to the stockpile.
