MEC Mining meet future engineers at UQ

We had the pleasure of meeting plenty of enthusiastic students at UQ’s Mining and Metallurgical Association BBQ on 22 May. MEC Mining sponsored the event, which was attended by over 40 current UQ students.

MEC’s Head of Talent Management Cheryl Holton, HR Specialist Jessie Lafferty, Senior Mining Engineer Grant Malcolm and Undergraduate Mining Engineer Zibo Lin all attended the event, which was held at UQ Campus. Our Business Development Manager Andrew Dittmann was also present, and spoke to the students about MEC’s capabilities and work culture.

“It’s always fantastic to meet up-and-coming engineers,” said Andrew Dittmann. “It’s a valuable exchange for us as mining professionals and for them as aspiring professionals. Not only are we able to hear about their thoughts and career ambitions, but we’re also able to answer their questions about the industry and show them the sorts of opportunities available to them if they work for a company like ours.”

MEC would like to thank UQ’s Mining and Metallurgical Association for the opportunity to meet and give back to tomorrow’s leaders.
