How to mine 4 billion cubic meters?

MEC was invited to assist with design work for the earthworks associated with the Nicaragua Canal Project. The project required excavation of approximately 4 billion cubic meters of material. MEC was approached to provide a plan that would optimise the earthworks component of the job. The advice from MEC cut through typical construction jargon, enabling the client to optimise their investment in engineering construction, management and machinery.

The use of the latest mining software enabled MEC to present the client with visual models of large scale earth moving common in Australia’s mining industry. MEC prepared detailed designs and plans and presented key findings that enabled the client to optimise excavation, haulage, dumping and equipment selection.
