Mining mentoring program set to nurture MEC talent

MEC Mining employees will soon benefit from mentorships with some of the top minds in the business.

MEC’s mentoring program, launched late last year, has attracted a large amount of interest from its talented ranks. To date, 18 MEC mentees are registered with the program and have been carefully paired with mentors from 11 different companies:

  • BHP
  • CTY Group
  • Evolution Mining
  • HSE Mining
  • MEC/Ortus
  • MMG
  • Rio Tinto
  • South21
  • VCI Developments
  • Wesfarmers Resources
  • Wood Group.

The mentors are senior leaders including directors, CEOs and business planning executives, and have a genuine interest in sharing their experiences and supporting individuals to grow and learn. All are strongly aligned with the values of MEC and have been matched with mentees based on their personalities and interests.

Investing in our People

Two of our core values at MEC are:

  • Collaborating and sharing ideas is how we do business.
  • We make relationships count.

We uphold these values in our client relationships, but they also underpin the way we operate as a team and our attitude to investing in our people. We see mentorships as the perfect vehicle for our employees to extend their skills and empower themselves.

To maximise the benefits of this program, we’ll be offering additional mentee training, supporting participants in developing core skills such as goal setting, engagement and self-reflection.

We have no doubt that these mentorships will provide transformative opportunities and lasting benefits to our mentees, and we’re grateful to the mentors who have agreed to give their time to nurturing the next generation of mining leaders. We wish you all the best and look forward to seeing the results of your collaborations!
