MEC Mining is proud to announce that Managing Director Simon Cohn will employ his 20 years of industry experience to provide leadership and advice to a mentee as part of the Queensland Resources Council (QRC) and Women in Mining and Resources Queensland (WIMARQ) Mentoring Program 2017.
The QRC/WIMARQ Mentoring Program is the first of its kind in Queensland and was created to meet proven demand for formal mentoring from the rising number of women working in Queensland’s minerals and energy sectors.
Running from June to November 2017, the program aims to support professional mentees through career guidance and direction by sharing mentor/mentee experiences, developing career goals and forging exceptional mentoring partnerships.
“I am looking forward to giving back to the resources sector by mentoring an industry professional. I find mentoring to be a rewarding and mutually beneficial experience, because you learn as much as you impart knowledge,” said Cohn.
There will be three official ‘sundowners held throughout the program. The launch function will take place this Friday 9th June in Brisbane, followed by a midway networking function and a celebration function at the conclusion of the program.
