OVERVIEW
BHP engaged MEC to provide support to its Olympic Dam Mine in South Australia. Works included medium term planning, life of asset planning & scheduling, life-of-asset projects, identification, phase planning, scheduling and assistance.
The mining method is sublevel open stoping with the deposit occurring in a massive sulphide orebody. Commodities extracted include Copper, Uranium, Silver and Gold.
