WHAT WE DO

MEC Mining provides relevant, practical and innovative professional development directly applicable to the demanding roles on your mine site. From long term concept study process mentoring to graduate skills boot camps, MEC training provides candidates with key skills and knowledge for site and office roles, addressing the challenge of using multiple tools to achieve effective operational outcomes.

HOW WE DO IT

MEC Mining uses a combination of consultants to tailor the course content to meet the specific needs of the candidate. Drawing on a base lesson plan and massive resource pool to ensure examples are kept relevant and applicable, facilitators apply a continuous improvement model to the provision of training and mentoring services. Follow up visits by the facilitator are also encouraged to ensure the skills are embedded back on site, or in the office.

  • I thought the course was extremely well run.

The facilities provided for the course were excellent and the presenters were helpful and explained concepts and tasks clearly. The passing on of tips and tricks they have developed over many years of use was greatly appreciated. The content covered was highly relevant to my job on site and the skills gained will be applied to my work on a daily basis.
The most beneficial part of this course was how a lot of the topics covered relate to industry application, rather than just learning computer functions. In particular, working on dragline sections and how modelling this using software packages can assist in optimising dragline strips was extremely valuable. I feel the amount of knowledge I gained in my two day course wouldn’t have been achieved if I had gone with any similar courses offered by other companies.
All in all, it was a great experience, and I would definitely use MEC for any future training requirements and recommend the course to other people in the industry.
